Development of cultural tourism strategies through social innovation and new technologies
TExTOUR is a European project that aims to develop cultural tourism policies and strategies that positively impact territorial socio-economic development. It uses ICT and social innovation tools to work on eight cultural tourism pilots in little-known areas.
Its results will prepare a modular and scalable EU Action Plan for the Development of Cultural Tourism and design a technological platform to evaluate the cultural tourism strategies planned by public and private agents.
Santa María la Real Foundation leads the working team. It is completed with 17 other entities from Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Spain, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, Poland, Portugal, and Ukraine.
TExTOUR has a duration of three and a half years (January 2021 - June 2024) and counts on a total budget of 3,950,468.75 euros. The European Commission funds the project under the Horizon 2020 Program.
