INUNDATIO - Interreg Sudoe

English

New technologies to prevent flooding

Making the SUDOE territory safer and more resilient. The INUNDATIO project's challenge will work until 2022 to develop a flood risk-reducing system caused by flash storms. How? By applying new technologies to detect and prevent them in advance. The initiative will combine sensor technology with artificial intelligence, geographic information systems, terrain modeling, telecommunications, and prevention and emergency management strategies.

INUNDATIO is being developed under the Interreg Sudoe program and has a budget of 1,427,000 euros, 75% of which is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The work team, led by the Santa María la Real Foundation, is completed by five other entities from Spain, France and Portugal: Centre d'Etudes et d'Expertise sur les Risques, l'Environnement, la Mobilité et l'Aménagement (Cerema); Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil; Universidad de Castilla - La Mancha; Agrupación Empresarial Innovadora para la Construcción Eficiente (AEICE) and Instituto Tecnológico de Castilla y León.
